I would like to take the opportunity to thank all those who voted Liberal Democrat in the recent general election. Whilst it was not the result we might have hoped for, we achieved a very creditable second place with 15,369 votes - a considerable boost from last time.

I was enormously buoyed up by the supportive messages and comments that we received in the last few days of the campaign, and I was impressed by the resilience and energy of our team of supporters who worked so hard and with such good humour.
